Fallas 2013 - Valencia - Programme of Events
FALLAS 2013 - PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
FEBRUARY 24th (Sunday)
At 07.30 a.m. Despertà (awakening sound fireworks) along Paz street to the Plaza del
Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square).
At 12.30 p.m. Music Band Parade from the Plaza de la Virgen towards the Plaza del
Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square) several music bands march playing typical
pasodobles. The parade finish approximately at a quarter to 2 p.m. and at that time all
the bands will play together the Pasodoble “El Fallero” (the Fallas anthem)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 8.00 p.m. Cridà. La Crida marks the official opening of the Fallas Festival. Crowds
of viewers and all the Fallas Committees gather beneath the Serranos Towers, one of
historical Valencia's best-known monuments. After a spectacular inaugural display of
light, sound, music and fireworks, the "Fallera Mayor" of Valencia (elected festival
queen), surrounded by her Court of Honour and the city authorities, invites everyone to
enjoy the imminent fiesta.

Square).
MARCH 2nd (Saturday)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At Midnight Night Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
MARCH 3rd (Sunday)
At 11.00 a.m. Cant de l’Estoreta Parade (children traditional parade representing the
origin of Las Fallas Festivals) in the Plaza del Carmen (Carmen square).
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 17.00 p.m. Ninot Parade. Itinerary: Departing from La Glorieta, along La Paz street
and San Vicente towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and passing by the City Hall
main entrance to Marqués de Sotelo street. After finishing the parade and opposite the
City Hall building, it will be displayed a Night Mascletà (fireworks).
MARCH 4th (Monday)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
MARCH 5th (Tuesday)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
MARCH 6th (Wednesday)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
MARCH 7th (Thursday)
At Midday in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square).starting of the XLIV Edition
of the Antique Car Race. Trophy named after His Majesty The King of Spain.
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).

At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall

At 08.00 a.m. Plantà (setting up) of all “FALLAS INFANTILES” (children's fallas)
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 06.00 p.m. Closing ceremony of the “NINOT EXHIBITION” (adult's figurines).
At Midnight Fireworks on the Paseo de La Alameda (between Exposición Bridge and
Las Flores Bridge).
MARCH 16th (Saturday)
At 08.00 a.m. Plantà (setting up) of all “FALLAS”.
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 04.30 p.m. From the stage outside the City Hall building, Awards Ceremony for
Children's "Fallas".
At 10.30 p.m. Tradicional Dancing and Singing Show from the Valencia Region (in the
stage outside the City Hall building)
At 01.00 a .m. Fireworks on the Paseo de La Alameda (between Exposición Bridge
and Las Flores Bridge).
MARCH 17th (Sunday)
At 09.30 a.m. From the stage outside the City Hall building, Awards Ceremony for
"Fallas" in all participating sections.
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 03.30 p.m. First day of the OFRENDA (Flower offering) to the “Virgen de los
Desamparados” along Paz street and San Vicente street thousands of falleros march
towards the Plaza de la Virgen. The procession finishes around midnight.
At 01.00 a.m. Fireworks on the Paseo de La Alameda (between Exposición Bridge
and Las Flores Bridge).
MARCH 18th (Monday)
At 11.00 a.m. Tribute to the poet Maximilano Thous, in his memorial monument located
at crossroads of Sagunto street and Maximilano Thous street.
At 12.00 p.m. Tribute to the compositor “Maestro Serrano”, taking place in his
memorial monument in Reino de Valencia Avenue.
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square)
At 03.30 p.m. Second day of the OFRENDA (Flower offering) to the “Virgen de los
Desamparados” along Paz street and San Vicente street thousands of falleros march
towards the Plaza de la Virgen. The flower offering finishes around 1 a.m. in the
morning.
At 01.30 a.m. Nit de Foc, the most important fireworks display in The Fallas Festival
on the “Paseo de la Alameda” (between Exposición Bridge and Las Flores Bridge)
MARCH 19th (Tuesday)
At 11.00 a .m. On the “Puente de San José” (Saint Joseph Bridge), flower offering
made by the Fallas Queens and their Courts of Honour in front of the statue of the
Patriarch.
At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall
Square).
At 07.00 p.m. Cabalgata del Fuego (Fire Parade) along Colon Street with a
spectacular firework show in Porta de la Mar Square.
At 10.00 p.m. Cremà or burning of the Children's Fallas.
At 10.30 p.m. Cremà or burning of the Children's Falla that was awarded First Prize in
Valencia.
At 11.00 p.m. Cremà or burning of the Official Children's Falla located in the “Plaza del
Ayuntamiento” (City Hall Square).
At 00.00 a.m. Cremà or burning of all the remaining adult Fallas in Valencia.
At 00.30 a.m. Cremà or burning of the adult Falla that was awarded First Prize in
Valencia.
At 01.00 a.m. Cremà or burning of the adult Official “Falla” located in the “Plaza del
Ayuntamiento” (City Hall Square)
Note: please notice that during the Fallas Festival there will be up to 700 streets closed. There
would be crowds all over the city. It is a popular festival for all. It is a walking around festival, so
bring with you the most comfortable shoes you may have and lots of patience. Enjoy Valencia
